Oh dear, you need to have stern words with your pooter ... or your broadband provider! Hope you had a good night.

Looks like no-one is paying any attention to you - or to the others (such as FK) who demonstrate some sanity. I posted again (as EB, but as a "guest" ... which is both safer and hammers home the point); the flag attached is the International Maritime Signal Flag for U (Uniform), "You are standing into danger". Here's betting no-one will get it.

Good Morning EB. Hope you have a good day. Please pass on my best wishes to Jane.

Hello Lads and Lasses.... And Cuddly Bears and Other Nursery rhyme characters.... And the lovely Maggie...

So very sorry to hear that Twells is in the deep stuff again Boss.... I hope things aren't as bad as they sounded yesterday.... And that the prognosis is brighter for you both today....Gentle Thoughts from the Spikey Dragon....

Sorry for absence.... I'm in the middle of 5 lots of eye surgery.... First emergency hole shooting one has been completed and I can still sort of see.... Next one due Thursday.... Providing results are OK on Tuesday's assessment visit....

Foolishly I continued my daily walk along the seaside prom.... Lasst Fridday Some Kind Soul had left a wire coathanger joined into a circle lying on the walking path... I didn't see it.... Feet entangled and went down like a ton of bricks.... A week later and still unable to walk without ouchiness... great ouchiness... And no way I can walk outside of the house for the time being.... Ecept on crutches and accompanied by a Responsible Adult.....Disgruntled of Bognor....

What's occurring with Sue's Home?.... Is it the usual Bolshy Brigade who have finally cracked Smeesue's Pattience?.... Did I see the name of Saint Scarlett mentioned.... Does anybody stlll take any notice of/believe her?.... Please don't bring them over here..... Pretty Please....

Gale Force winds are still battering the beautiful West Sussex Coast.... Any attempt to open the back door into the garden are futile.... Flying Furniture has been sighted....

Anybody here into Cricket?.... Sorry... I did say that quietly.... Is sit worth starting a thread?....

Off to attempt the climb up the stairs..... >>>>>>>.

Hi <insert season of your choice> Dragon!

Thanks, I'll pass on the gentle thoughts when I next talk with 3Wells - she's due a visit from neurologist this afternoon so still considerable apprehension.

Sorry indeed to hear about your own travails ... (erm, hope that doesn't bring the grammar brigade down on me!) but if you're having a series of eye ops, I sincerely hope you come out of it better than you went in! And can avoid further Traps for the Unwary, if you spot a hat on the ground, don't kick it ... it might contain a brick ;-)

No-one actually knows what went down at Sue's other than that she shuttered the place with no notice, and has hacked off a LOT of folk. There's a belfry of bats (mostly decent folk) gathered in an abandoned Proboards forum someone found - and I (and quite a few others!) think they're being a tad unwise, since this forum has unrestricted registration, allows unrestricted guest posting, and has no active administration or moderation. They think "trolls" are their only possible problem, they have NO idea that broadcasting all sorts of details about on a forum which ANYONE can register on (and thus appear legitimate) is a gold-mine for potential "phishers" (see my post earlier). There's no possibility whatsoever of Scarlett landing here, she considers me despicable and HATES 3Wells (for suspending her ... with due cause); long story, not providing any further details here. When (if) they get their new "home" sorted out, Scarlett will probably be a "mod", so draw your own conclusions .... :-)

Hi Dragon,

Sorry to hear you've fallen on hard ground. Feel free to flame anybody you see dropping stuff on paths. Will keep fingers crossed for good eye assessment on Tuesday.

Am I the only one who is absolutely delighted that the last seven weeks of politricks is over? It's finally safe to turn the TV back on. Or will be after the weekend.

I'm 101% with our host regarding that Proboards board. It's going to be a dangerous place until they sort out admin. I registered with it, to pass on some info. Without going through the Guest nonsense. But although I used one of my usual usernames. None of the personal information is accurate and everything goes via an alternative server.

It's just a matter of time before the spammers and porn-merchants find them - perhaps that is what Proboards is waiting for... A good excuse to close it down once it's in breach of its ToS.
I'm in the middle of setting up a Proboards board, to move what's left of my Yuku board's membership to.

Right then. Time to go and eat.

Take care, Dragon.

Will.

At the risk of taking through my hat.... How does using an alternative Server. This ignoramus asks that if the Alternative Server can feed back to your Pooter, would it not plant its maluse into your pooter in the same way as your main e-mail .... or have I got wrong definitions of "servers". .. OK, I'm a dinasaur .. just thinking back to to a clients office of yeeeeaaars ago and possinbly got it wrong.

You know of course that "politics" is formed from two root words: "poly", meaning "many", and "ticks", meaning "blood-sucking insects"? ;-)

I've deleted my account with the Bowman board. I hope something replaces it but I doubt it.

Love to 3 Wells, and I hope that the treatment is successful and that she can return to her lovely home soon.

So sorry you were snared on a public footpath Spring Dragon. I always shift stuff over to the side with my walking stick. If it would trip me, it could trip someone else. I hope your eye operations work well in due course.

That is so very true, ATD.
They're at it again already. Several times today I've heard them on various news programmes predicting another election before Christmas.
It's just not fair!

Hi Rwth. Hope you are well.

GLO, I presume you mean on the Bowman board (not just deleting a post or thread)? While logged in you click on "Profile", then "Edit Profile", then click the "Settings" tab, then click "Delete account" (down near the bottom). Follow the instructions, you have to type the word "delete" and confirm.

I see you're getting a rough time there. So am I but I asked for it ;-). The way it's going, even if Angie actually DOES get "admin" rights, I don't give the place very long before it implodes! Take comfort from the fact that there ARE some with a bit of consideration for you, I do hope they (and the silent but probably somewhat concerned probable majority) get to find a secure home.

Thanks.. I think I've deleted my presence on the Board, but my details seems to forever be on the -"Global" record of Proboards. I will have another lurk, later - I'm currently playing on "The Memories thread" My Childhood days...

Ah, you can lose that too ... it's not too difficult. Go to http://www.proboards.com (their "main" site page). Click on "LOGIN" (blue button, top, to the right). Enter your "global" login email and password, and click "LOGIN". The original "LOGIN" button becomes "ACCOUNT"; click it, and select "Account Settings". From that page, you can "Delete Global Account".

I did this with all my "real" email addresses, I only have "burners" registered as Global Accounts now.

Just looked, your "GLO" user account appears to be still present. You don't want to delete your proboards global account without deleting or "unlinking" the board account first: "unlinking" means it still exists on the board but is "in limbo", it can be re-linked to another Global account later (so long as you remember the password you set when it was "unlinked" that is).

Hope this makes sense.

Good Morning all,
It is brightening here now, after a wet night. Forecast is for more rain today though. probably tomorrow, too. I've been up since just after 5 am, had coffee (so am almost human) and about to take my dog for an early morning walk.
Going to declutter my 'study' later. I've bought some largish items of equipment recently and at the moment the boxes and packaging is still in there. I'll nest those boxes in with others in the attic.
Other than that and watching the Canadian Grand Prix later. I have nothing on the schedule.

Later people,

Will.

Hi GLO,

I agree with ATD. Ignore the snapping at you on the Yellow (Bowman) board. Think of them as noisy yapping puppies. I'm a tad surprised at a wannabe Admin joining in with that. She should be clamping down on it (though she has no powers to at the moment), she could at the very least be expressing her disapproval.

You have a good day.

Will.

Looks like there's been some sort of response from Proboards, Angie is showing as "admin". And at least one of the two "perfect storm" elements has been closed down (I suspect by Proboards): guest posting is now disabled. I don't know if user registration has been changed to require admin approval, but at least it's an improvement!
