Correct on the translation. However, no specific meaning ... other than being an alternative to "Ebony Bull" But all bets are off if you operate a china shop, agricultural machinery yard might be safer ...Brians Cravat wrote:'An Tarbh Dubh'. 'The Black Bull'!

I knew from visits to Dublin that, 'Dubh' was 'black' and the rest just took a little research. Incidentally,, I find it interesting that we have 'Blackpools' on either side of the Irish Sea.
