Re: It's July!
Really interesting to hear your memories GLO. Keep them coming. Maybe the places will identify themselves in due course. Remembering the county is a start. The bottled plums would probably have been put into pies so didn't have to be of the best dessert quality. Yellow Pershores were definitely bott...

Re: It's July!
Often these places have nice gardens so they're worth going to for that reason. I'm going to Westbury Court tomorrow which has a nice water garden.

Re: It's July!
Good morning all. The plan for the day was to go and play William Boyce Sonatas with a friend, but the handyman turned up out of the blue so I have to wait for him to finish painting the replacement cladding. He's done the gutter though. He has the same name as Sir Blunderdog's first names, only rev...

It's July!
I can hardly believe the year is half over. Never mind, I expect I got busy and didn't notice. This morning I looked at my Inbox and wanted to run back to the bedroom and cover my head. Nothing awful, just comments about a meeting I arranged for next week, and another rendezvous with my sister for t...

Re: How About An Any Day Thread
Good Morning. Just whizzing off to get clean and fresh then it's Church (choir) and a walk with Cassie. Then I can come back and slummock for the rest of the day. Hello all.

Re: How About An Any Day Thread
Yes, I thought I heard an echo. I was a bit busy yesterday, but I'm resting today. I enjoyed the play this afternoon, about John Le Carre. A bit silly, but lots of laughs.
Hope all is well.

Re: How About An Any Day Thread
I've been away for a couple of days and now I'm exhausted. I drove up into Shropshire from the edge of Worcestershire, then into Hereford then back home. I met this nice couple in the bar of the hotel my grandmother hosted in 1899. They were in their mid 80s, and I had to repeat what I'd said severa...

Re: How About An Any Day Thread
Interesting GLO. Quite a history with that one. I wonder why they messed about with it. Maybe the Chauffeur found something irksome while he was supposed to be driving it perfectly for a director. Is it really quiet? I tend to judge a car on how quiet it runs. That was why I was never impressed by d...

Re: How About An Any Day Thread
Hope that she finds some decent clothing to Grace the great outdoors and to protect her from Pearl's immoderate jubilation. Cassie was very restrained when I got back from hospital. She gave an old fashioned look as if to say. "Are you home for good or are you going to go off again?"

2/4d of course. I usually pay £4.50 (or less if it is a pensioner's portion). They do half of Cod and one scoop of chips. I sometimes like hake though Plaice is usually much bigger than Cod. You have to shout out if you want Chicken or Plaice so they can put it straight in and by the time you get to...

Re: How About An Any Day Thread
Oh well, really annoying when they do that. I remember saying to friends that this wasn't acceptable. That my arrangements were made first, and only a Royal command would displace the fixture in future. One doesn't arrange things now, and the other always accepts or refuses meetings depending on exi...

Re: How About An Any Day Thread
I've had a fairly lazy day, with some genealogy, some route planning and an itinerary for next week's jaunt into Shropshire. A bit of Parish magazine work, and lots of deletions. It's been interesting following up the family records. I worked out where they lived and decided to explore next week. It...

Re: The "Bowman" Board
Yes, I do and did appreciate the benefits of honesty 3 Wells. I joined Peets a very long time ago. I was on the old BBC board and still posted spasmodically in Peets all along, though avoided the early thread because it tended to be fairly repetitious. Some posters using both would duplicate their c...

Re: How About An Any Day Thread
But but but GLO, with the contract you have, they give Macafee with the broadband contract. I don't see how yours could be different from mine with the same provider and domain name. I don't think the one Macafee sells is any better than the in house version. I sometimes get a (Free) House call from...

Re: US Military Attack on Syria
As far as I can tell, there are plenty of lies being told. American researchers on the ground found out that Assad is actually pretty popular in Syria. He didn't want to join in with international debt and his finance system was working, is still working. There is free healthcare, free education and...

Cat Club
Well, no I haven't got a cat. I've thought of having one, but I sort of went off them for various reasons. One was that between dogs, a tabby kitten tried hard to adopt us by walking into the house, and was very angry when I captured it on the stairs and gently sent it on its way into the summer sun...

Re: Dog Club
I thought I'd find my way in here and bore you with my dog. She's not very obedient, but she's well behaved. OH used to train our dogs, and walk them too, mostly though I'd take the current one on an expedition if the mood took me, and she'd always come along when we went on a combined jaunt. When w...
