Re: Wizz! Bang! January 2018 ...
Either it's a very small Buffet, or a Small Small Photy. It's a very small Photy ... just a thumbnail, actually. The way I have this site set up it won't "preview" a proper link to the photo site ... something I'll try and deal with at some stage but for now this link will give you the pr...

But if it's properly traditional, she won't have to pay, will she? Isn't the bride's family supposed to do that?

Oh, how sad. Perhaps you should give Brenda a call and ask if she sent it registered post, and you can find out who signed for it?

Re: I woder if we should Move to the DECEMBER thread
Our Chandra gets endless entertainment out of: bottle caps, corks, and snack packets. Especially the latter: while eating a bag of crisps or anything like that, he sits there watching ... when done, we have to roll the bag up, tie it into a knot, and then it's his toy! He hunts them, drowns them in ...

Re: I woder if we should Move to the DECEMBER thread
We're getting away quite lightly so far (fingers crossed): freezing, yes, but little more than a dusting of snow yesterday, that's gone. Being not too high and quite close to the Shannon Estuary to the south and the Atlantic (with the Gulf stream) to the west, is moderating things quite nicely! Trus...

Re: I woder if we should Move to the DECEMBER thread
Greetings one and all. We had some VERY worried cats yesterday; I turned all the heating off in the morning, including "their" stove that they curl up in front of, so everything including the chimneys would be cold for the annual servicing and chimney sweep! Of course, after it was re-lit,...

Re: November already? Doesn't time fly!
The Irish addressing scheme works just fine - house/family name, townland, and perhaps include county or your post could rattle around the system acquiring little notes from various post offices such as "they're not here, try county so-and-so ..." until it eventually reaches you :-). Now t...

Re: November already? Doesn't time fly!
Good morning folks. Long time no visit ... to cut a long story short, 3Wells and myself have been trying out a bit of a "role reversal" - I've spent most of the last fortnight in hospital . Hoping all are keeping as well as possible as winter draws in .....

Re: Well, well, well, it’s October
No, Dad qualified as an engineer, then became a teacher - teaching secondary school science to "intermediate" level and physics to senior level. He had unbounded curiosity and a desire to poke into the inner workings of just about everything, but with a slight tendency not to consider pote...

Re: Well, well, well, it’s October
Let's hope your neighbours take it seriously. That reminds me of an "incident" at our home in Dublin, many years ago (before I was married). Shortly after we'd moved, my dad was investigating pipes and things leading into the house under the front doorstep, and found a somewhat rusted, el...

I discovered something about Californian wine a while back ... it's a bit like Indians and tea. They keep the very best for themselves, what they "allow" out of the state (never mind out of the country!) is rarely the best

Yes indeed, Chandra is most definitely still with us! He's almost all grown-up now (well, he's physically grown up - but I think he still thinks he's a kitten). I'll provide some current photos sometime soon.

Our three girls: Perry (the one who went missing) is the middle one of the three (obviously Isa, to the right, isn't a Bengal)! They're all around 10 years old, Isa is about 3 months older than the two Bengal girls - who are genuine sisters, they're litter-mates. http://zenphoto.intricatewebs.com/Ca...

Re: Well, well, well, it’s October
GLO, of course you're not offending anyone ... at least not here, that I'm aware of! We had a bit of a drama ... one of our Bengals managed to get out accidentally on Sunday (they are indoor cats). No sign of her at dinner time; no sign of her overnight; we were frantic! Searching all around, and le...
