Re: Miscellany: Week Beginning ... September 26
http://www.shop4memory.com ... I've found them very good. They're Irish based, prices are good, and usually orders sent by regular post (at no cost) arrive next day. That name rings a dim and distant bell. I think I may have mail ordered stuff from them. I use mail order a lot. As a rule I'd sooner...
Re: Hello
It's cold in here... If somebody left the door open. They've all escaped.
Re: Hello
I have one of the mini weather-station clocks, Temps, Barometer and Wind-speed. (It was from Maplin a few years back). The sender is on the wall of a shed in the garden and the receiver is just inside the kitchen door. Interesting. But the wind-speed is not that accurate. The small rotating cups on ...

That sounds like fun. What you need is a Maplins in your nearest town. They have/had special offers on memory when I called in to the Hereford branch, a fortnight back.
A Maplins special offer, is when it reduces the price from its usual extortionate rate, to the price everybody else charges.

Could you all keep your fingers crossed, please. I have to be out for most of the morning/afternoon. After 10 hours of non-stop rain. It's dry at the moment. It looks like we may even have some sunshine later. Being dry is - for me at least - much better than being soaked.

Good Morning people,
I'm up eating toast, drinking coffee and watching CNN news coverage of the people protests in Charlotte, NC.
I have a cousin who lives there. She has done for years. Her husband - before he retired - was a deputy fire chief.

It's a trade secret, GLO. I could tell you, but then I'd have to make you walk the plank. Or hang you from the yard-arms.
Will.

Re: Miscellany: Week Beginning ... September 19
Good Morning,
I've been up for a while now and though it's a tad chilly again, at least it's not as murky as yesterday.
Hope you have a good day.
Will.
p.s. Though I always try to avoid using the C word, this early. Christmas is only 13 weeks away.

Ah! You know there's nothing you like more than setting up new servers. All that hair-pulling and head-banging when something doesn't work. I have a server here, which started out back in the 90's as a RAID box. Since then the internal bits have all been swapped a couple of times at least. Messing w...

Eeee! My granddad were poor. He used to tell me that when 'e were a kid, they couldn't afford a bike and he had to run all the way to and from t'school, rolling an old barrel-hoop alongside him. Then one day when t'school 'ad finished, he went out and somebody had nicked the hoop. He had t' wait unt...

Re: Miscellany: Week Beginning ... September 18
When I was a kid, we used to make the same noise, GLO. By clipping a piece of card to the wheel of a bike so it rubbed on the spokes as they turned. At quick speeds it sounded like a motor. At slow speeds it sounded like a rattle.

Industrious... Yes. You're right, GLO. I think maybe I should take some tablets and wait for the 'feeling industrious' bit to pass, before I do anymore. Didn't bother with breakfast when I got up, just going to do an enhanced breakfast, as Sunday Lunch. Bacon, egg, black-pudding and fried bread with...

Re: Miscellany: Week Beginning ... September 12
It's a glorious late summer morning here. I've washed the outsides of all of the windows and power washed the concrete paths around the house. Now I'm going to have another mug of coffee.
