Re: Cat Club

I would tend to agree. It's usually more difficult to introduce an older cat, well settled in his or her ways, into a house with younger cats - but even so, it usually works out! If Established Cat is confident, a young cat (especially a kitten) will usually learn "the rules" very quickly!...

Re: Well, well, well, it’s October

Power reconnected here - we're lucky! But we went out and got a generator this morning (something we had planned to get anyway - 24 hours without power just made it a little more pressing). And we know the genny works very well indeed now :-) 3Wells is as well as can be expected - recovering, but no...

Re: Well, well, well, it’s October

Kind of wild, storm centre is now about 15 or so miles west of us. Wind starting to veer southeast to south and increasing. Power out since noon and not expected to be restored before tomorrow. So BBQ sausages for dinner!

Re: Well, well, well, it’s October

Looks like "ex-hurricane Ophelia" is tracking slightly to the west: not good news for places north of us, but it should mean the "top" of the storm, with it's north/easterly and easterly winds, will miss us. We'll get pretty serious weather (it's started), but closer to the preva...

Re: Well, well, well, it’s October

GLO, if you use the same pharmacy regularly, would they not at least give you a few days' supply to keep you going until you get the doc's cock-up sorted out? It's not as if you don't have a prescription, it sounds a bit like cock-up followed by an extra high grade of "jobsworth"-ing.

Re: SEPTEMBER? ALREADY?

Well you seem to, GLO. I'm struggling even more with my new smart phone. It doesn't seem to want to do as I tell it, and of course, I'm a bit heavy handed with it. Hope things get resolved for you soon. The "Tapatalk" app (available for both Android and Apple) works well, and this site su...

Re: SEPTEMBER? ALREADY?

Good morning folks - and welcome back GLO, glad you have been able to get back in. I have to report that 3Wells is back in hospital ... respiratory, had a bad asthma attack and local doc said no, you won't be dealing with this one at home. At least she's been responding to nebuliser, hopefully won't...

Re: SEPTEMBER? ALREADY?

Popping in to say a quick Hello, we're still here but I've got a rather bad dose of bronchitis. GLO has been having some bother logging in (again), his 'pooter really doesn't seem to like him. Hopefully he'll get it sorted and will be back soon ...

Re: SEPTEMBER? ALREADY?

Thanks folks. We're both reasonably OK; 3Wells is having another course of the artificial fluid injections in her knee (which last about 16-18 months or so), and they are already helping; she's also been able to do something she really wanted to, taking up swimming again. Two or three times a week, ...

Re: Well, It's August!

We had a cat who had very definite "views" about things - one of which was carry cages. We had a wire cat-carrier, the only one we had a chance of getting him into - and once had to haul him in it to the vet. In surgery - out of cage like a rocket. Until vet perpetrates the indignity of ta...

That's your current total number of posts ... it's "live", not linked to the value as of the time of the post. Hope that makes sense!

Re: Well, It's August!

Just to save clutter, I have merged the two August threads ... based strictly on timestamps, so Brian's title appears first. Hope no-one objects :-) At the Wells/Bull residence, the transition into August was notable only by loss of power - but since it was scheduled, at least I had a chance to prep...

Re: It's July!

We're still here, and as well as can be expected. I just don't post that often, and 3Wells is usually to be found in "The Cellar" (on the Ambridge Reporter site), and here and there in Peets ... more occasionally here. 3Wells isn't really fully recovered from her last problems but is getti...

Re: What I'm Currently Listening To

That sounds very like my own musical tastes! I'm not very keen on Country & Western, don't really consider "rap" to be Music, and can't comprehend the stuff that seems to be beloved of teenage girls on public transport (I don't know what it's called, but it sounds more like the SFX fro...

Re: It's July!

SD's lost post may have fallen through a crack in the space-time continuum and transmogrified into GLO's double-post ... computer gremlins at work, methinks! One thing to watch out for: if you're using the "quick reply" (typing a reply in the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of th...

Re: Lurking

Should there be a "buzz" for hesitation? Oh, that's a different game ... from listening to yesterday's ISIHAC, it seems that buzzing in with an association that no-one else could be reasonably expected to know (for example, "I once looked at a picture of an acolyte through a diffract ...

Brian, that sounds like a most excellent life plan! So welcome back when you appear, and when you don't - well, just be enjoying yourself :-).

Yep, July ... on the downward slide towards winter again, as the days start getting shorter ... I'm a bundle of joyous optimism aren't I just?

Re: How About An Any Day Thread

Hope you find the coffee, before it grows a new civilisation ... my guess is, you'll have made a fresh mug, you'll set it down, and your gaze will fall on the old one! Gosh, Friday again. I am really looking forward to next week-end - not going anywhere! (it's Sligo, this week-end - at least that's ...

Re: How About An Any Day Thread

Good morning folks! Gosh, another week heaves into view ... GLO, I guess that needs some thinking about. About rallies - in addition to the "modern" stage rallies I'm mostly involved with, I have been involved with a "Vintage & Veteran" event - which is completely different (...
